Hi,

Here is a little background on me:

I built my first computer as a high school student in 1980. It was based on the RCA 1802, programmed via toggle switches, output was a 2-digit hex display. Later I added an ascii keyboard, simple video output, an eeprom programmer and a mechanical 110 baud teletype. I hand assembled all code that ran on this system! I used this as a terminal in college where I majored in electrical engineering.

After graduation worked (still at #3) at 3 companies as a custom asic designer and pretty much gave up software/hardware hacking as a hobby. Now that I've 'settled down' I spend more time at home and have rediscovered the hacking spirit. I usually leach from websites but rarely contribute back. Until now...

I want to do a few things on my nslu2, but want to do it from my mac. So my first contribution is to add a wiki page on setting up cgg to cross compile from the mac (should work on any unix/linux/bsd system.) See the page HowTo.CompileCrossToolOnOSX and also the brute force HowTo.SetUpAToolChainOnAMac which is still very much a work in progress.

I can be reached at seadevil@gmail.com
