This is a brief description how to install Aquila Direct connect hubserver on a slug. Im new to Linux so this can sure be made better, but this worked for me.

What you need: A slug and unslung.(openslug dont works?)

Take your time read the manual you gonna need it=).

This descripion is for unslung. you can remove samba nmbd,do

 killall thttpd

and stop unp,and remvove evrything a DC hub dont need since it must to be dedicated.

type in terminal

 ipkg install optware-devel ( a 150 mb download)
 ipkg install lua

When Lua installation is finished everything is prepared for aquila installation

 mkdir hubinstall 

 mkdir hub

 cd /hubinstall

IMPORTANT.: Dont use version 0.1.8 becuse it seems start but dont on a slug

 wget http://shania.nl.googlepages.com/aquila-0.1.11-pre1.tar.gz

or

 wget http://www.sanitarium.selfip.com/index.php?dir=aquila-0.1.11/&file=aquila-0.1.11-pre1.tar.gz

 tar zxvf  aquila-0.1.11-pre1.tar.gz


 cd  aquila-0.1.11-pre1

 ./configure --with-lua-includes=/opt/include/ --with-lua-libraries=/opt/lib/

 make

as root do

 make install

download this file: http://aquiladc.googlepages.com/AquilaAccount.rar(approve sites) read the readme in that file and put accounts.conf and Aquila.xml in your hubfolder.

type in same dircectory

 aquila -d -r

Log in with your client, with your nick and password to: 192.168.1.77:411 /suppose 192.168.1.77 your hubs LAN IP. type:

    * !save 

thats all.

Recommendations,hubsettings:

    * hub.bufferhardlimit 32k up to 64 k works
    * hub.buffertotallimit 8m can be changed to 10mb
    * hub.buffersoftlimit 24k try 40k if users get disconnected
    * hub.bufferhardlimit 32k try 60 k if users get disconnected
    * hub.timeoutoverflow 25000 <--change to this from defaults
    * hub.timeoutbuffering 40000 " " " "
    * nmdc.researchinterval 0 ""
    * nmdc.researchmaxcount 0 ""
    * nmdc.researchperiod 0 "" 

Test openslug:

    * Operators 1 / 4
    * Total 521 / 610
    * Peak 576
    * Dropped 6742
    * Buffering 0 

At the time maxusers was set to 576.

Unresolved Problem: installed ok under slugOS, server appears to start but crashes on first connection attempt by client. Debug mode reveals:

 Accepted NMDC user from xxx.xxx.x.xxx
 Unknown Support flag GetZBlock???
 Segmentation fault

Note. For some reason installation with lua on openslug dont works.On unslung it works with the lua 5.1 provided with ipkg.

A new peak usercount is reached=).
